Probably just as well there are no similar animal gutting requirements in O'. Trying to dress out an animal using SportIdent would not be an easy task.

Now I have an update to my own story. I was telling my sister a few days ago about what had happened, and she either said or asked something that made me re-think through the whole incident. The way I've described what happened to everyone I've talked to is that it happened so fast it seemed to happen all in one blink of time: one moment I was seeing a funny, fuzzy looking large creature in the trail ahead of me, and the next moment was down in the snow on my back, well off the trail, and looking up at a moose looking back at me a few feet away. It happened that fast.

But I realized that doesn't make total sense. How could I not remember the animal charging and hitting me? No matter how fast it might have moved, I should have seen it all happening. And I thought back to my bike crash some years back, when one moment I was up on my bike and riding, and the next moment I was sitting on the ground with my bike in my lap and having no idea what had happened in between.

So now I strongly suspect I was knocked out as I was being struck by the moose. Otherwise there is no good explanation for not having any memory of the moose coming for me, or being hit and knocked well off the trail, or having my leg struck.

Which means there's no telling what kind of gratuitous taunting you might have done to invite the retribution of the moose.

Exactly. Maybe I did all the wrong things you could do, a half dozen times or more, before the moose decided: "Okay, that does it, I've had enough, I'm going to wipe out this moron."

Det är viktigt att respektera älgen eftersom det är större än dig!

I do like the second story better. Hope you are not having any nightmares about it.
