| DInglis: | I hope you're feeling better today. Will you be going to the SciOly meeting instead of orienteering? (I won't... heh) |

| Acampbell: | yeah are you feeling any better tori? i see you went to school so that is a good sign right? |

| TBorish: | I figured I wouldn't have been able to run the orienteering course full out, but I could still study circuits as well as normal, so I went to Sci Oly. And states is in 2 weeks and I really want to make it to nationals. I really wanted to be orienteering, but I know I would have gotten annoyed at the way my body got tired so easily and the way I can't stop coughing after running. Whenever you get back, you'll just have to tell me about the meet. Or I'll just read everybody's logs. |

| kupackman: | Eric was 51 and change.
Lots of complaints about that map and course... though I don't have any personal experience since I didn't go out there. But... the basemap hasn't been updated in 15 years... I had to stay really late, as for some reason, two kids (separate) were out on the long course and didn't come back until after an hour after the course closed. They were both about 13 years old. The parents thought they could handle the long course because they had done WIOL. I think maybe they expected Course 4 today to be like Course 4 at WIOL. |

| TBorish: | wow, I'm glad kids have never been out that late when we've been in charge of the cell phone o's. did the rest of the meet run smoothly? |

| huwstradling: | yeah that was an interesting course. the first time i've done over 10 min/k in a long time. i think the vegetation was the only thing that wasn't right. there should have been more clear distinctions in boundaries. but eric did it fast so i guess it wasn't that bad |

Almost. The course setters were waaaaay late with setting up the courses, so I had some disgruntled people at the start because we couldn't get going until 10:25. I also had some volunteers that I told could start running at 9:00, so they could make their shifts... so that was frustrating for them, as they had to wait around for 90 minutes to start. But, I did have plenty of volunteers, so I never had to worry about manpower issues. And the weather was beautiful! yeah that was an interesting course. This map is one of the sketchier ones... if you look at the credits, there hasn't been any major fieldchecking since the mid 90's. |
