| Sandy: | I think you did great Alison. It's really difficult to run and race in a vaccuum meaning with no other people that you can reliably use to gauge your pace and your performance. This is great training for you to learn how your body reacts to different distances, to learn how it feels to run at a certain pace, to learn how to tell if you're really working as hard as you can, and so on. Down the road - this will all pay off big time as you run through the woods knowing that you can work a little harder or go a little faster or that you know you won't bonk as you stick to a certain pace. I think it's terrific. Congratulations. And now you can set realistic goals for yourself, too! |

| cporter: | I agree with Sandy, Alison. Now is a perfect time for you to test your own abilities and experiment with different distances. When I ran track in high school I was mostly a two-miler and high jumper, but occassionally my coach would throw me into much shorter distances like the 800m. What I found out is that I have a great stride for that distance and it really paid off, especially in cross country races. As you well know that the last 800m of a 5k is GO time and working on my 800's in track really paid off in my cross country season. I gained a lot of places at the finish of my 5k's because I knew that odds were good that I could run a better 800 than the girls around me.
I hope that my own example helps to inspire you to think about how your track career can help your cross country and orienteering. I think you are doing a fantastick job. Keep up the good work! |

| j-man: | Hi Alison. That is a great set of performances! You had a tough job and you met it head on. You should be very proud. It shows that you have a lot of potential and character to rise to the challenge. I think your goals are reasonable and well considered. Good luck with the upcoming season! |

| Acampbell: | Thank you guys!! Your comments help a lot! sadly though i don't get to do this all over again today because my knee is still bugging me from my fall at FCE on sunday. Hopefully next week though!! and maybe the schools we run against then will have some faster girls i can run against, if not oh well the mental challenge is good! |
