iriharding: Setters comments: I guess a big decider leg was #10 to #11. It was from the lightpole on W side of hill to the veg bdry on NE side.

Judging from Jerritt and my splits : 1:36 and 1:17 respectively (but almost identical total times) , and Pete's time of 1:25 there was at least a 20 second penalty (or 25 to 30% slower ) to going around the N side of the hill) . (or maybe i am just a mountain goat )

Leg 7 - 8 also was a differentiator . At this point I need more folks to put their routes in to figure which way was best

pfc: Looks like:
- Pete, Jerritt west veg bdy to trail
- Ian, Todd, Stephen east close to lake
- Tony, Matthias east on trail

% of total time for that leg:
Pete 14.1%, Jerritt 11.5%
Ian 13.5%, Todd 13.8%, Stephen 13.9%
Tony 13.6%, Matthias 14.3%

I'm not sure there's a statistically significant difference there.

pfc: I'd agree there was a penalty for 10-11 around the hill, but maybe not as much as 25-30%. I made the decision because I was running out of steam by that point, and had already had to walk up the hill from the trail intersection to #8 (probably why my split was longer there). Now that I think back on the nice snow free hilltop, though...
