You took the won the split on the run to CP 11. Did you go up the path and over the hill along the veg boundary?

I just didnt have the confidence to go up and over...I was gassed, knew I had a decent run going and wasnt willing to take the risk of up and over even though it was not that difficult in retrospect....

Yes... I took the direct route up along the path and over the top of the hill . I figured it was only about 20-30 feet vertical and I could go into oxygen debt and get it all back on the downslope and run in to the finish. Pete went around the long way and he took quite a lot longer (even though he is faster). Also I noticed that there was a lot of snow left on the N facing slopes so running on a S facing slope would be free of snow and drier.

Favoring routes with southern exposure may prove useful other meets this spring. ;-)
