| vyc: | Anybody had a chance to try it?
Looks really nice. I'm almost ready to order one ;) Was thinking about Polar first, but if buy Polar with G3 receiver, Garmin seem to be better. And much cheaper.. They should be released in next couple weeks.. I just wander..will it be much worse than 305? (smaller GPS antena could be the problem I guess..) Any ideas? :) |

| bbrooke: | The release date for ForeRunner 405 has been pushed back to June 2008.
You can compare specs of 305 and 405 here. I like the idea of wireless data transfer and the smaller size (especially as compared to my clunky 201...). |

| vyc: | Oh... I heard something about 21 of April - in Boston marathon, but probably it's not true anymore..
Thanks for comparison list. This is a thing to worry about I guess: "The accuracy is very similar to that of the 305. There may be a slight difference due to the size, but it shouldn?t be noticeable" whole Q&A page here + there should be some bugs as it is a new product... 305 looks like a better option for the next 6-12 months for ~200$ |

| frankj: | Just a small point to add. I have no use for GPS so I got the Garmin 50. The key factor to me was the automatic transfer of data to my computer. Uses ANT. The 405 uses ANT also. eg.: get home from activity, walk over to computer, if PC was on, your data is already there. |

| vyc: | yea, ANT sounds like a cool feature... |
