Anyone going to Sage Stomp? It's only 5 weeks away (May 17/18). Sprint + Middle on Saturday and Long on Sunday. I'm interested in going and would be inclined to carpool. I can drive, too. I can leave Seattle as early as 2:30pm Friday, May 16th.
Yes, I'm going and interested in carpooling. It looks like no Monday race this year. That's probably just as well a week before Team Trials.
I am up for it too. Driving or riding along.
Nikolay and I briefly talked on Saturday about carpooling. I drove last time, so he's volunteered to drive. Since the sprint (first race) start window is late enough in the afternoon (1pm - 3pm), our current plans are to leave Seattle early on Saturday morning.
And don't worry, it is a 4 door car we will be riding in :)
That sounds good. Have either of you thought about camping locations? kupackman, have you experienced Knutsford yet? If other orienteers are staying there, it could be a good choice. We could ask where others are staying once we get up there.
I was planning on bringing a tent (2-person) and some camping gear. I haven't experienced Knutsford yet. I figure that we could probably wing it with finding a camping spot.
Do we all want to meet at Nikolay's (Redmond) Saturday morning? What time? I'm thinking somewhere in the 7-8am range...
7am would be better, so that we have time for stops or delays and get there with time to get ready before the first start. Since there are two races, we'll want some time to recover between.
Drive: The directions say 5 hours sharp from Redmond to the event. I am fine with 7 AM. If we need we could leave earlier that's fine too.
Camping: I have a car camping tent good for 10 people. Sometimes I think it is as big as the Street scramble tents :) I'll put it in the car too.
Meeting point: Should I drive to your places and pick you up Sat morning? Give me your addresses and we can do that.
Music: There is no MP3 player plug in in the car, so bring some CDs if you want.
I'm on the west side of Green Lake, at 427 N 63rd St (SW corner of 63rd and Dayton). Eric is over in Lake City somewhere, so he's not too far from me.
