kupackman: Ankle did ok. I ended up wearing the second beefiest brace because I didn't think the biggest one would have fit into my Vasques.

The course involved a lot of crawling over logs and stuff, so it was a very good test for the ankle. My left foot got caught once and twisted a bit, but in the yaw axis, which is the one axis where things are looking good. I never rolled it, so that was good. However, my ankle was compressed several times, which caused some shooting pains, but only temporarily.

I ran pretty conservatively, making sure I didn't try anything too crazy. I was slower in scrambing over downed trees, and I was slower running down the steep hills. It's also pretty painful running up steep hills, as the ankle is compressed a lot due to geometry.

It probably would have helped had I remembered to take some Advil pre-run, but oh well. The good news is that I didn't re-injure it any more. If the MRI results come out as expected: it's a bone contusion and everything will heal up OK, then I think I'll go ahead and commit to the Sage Stomp (May) and the Tahoe event (June).
