If a day or two off would help your knee, it might be a good idea to nip it in the bud. It certainly wouldn't hurt your fitness. Then again, part of the art of training is deciding what's a passing soreness and what's an injury, and you're probably on top of that.
I decided to back off on the intensity this week. I don't feel it anymore when I run but it's definitely still there. I'm not too worried about it as I just got 3 new pairs of shoes.
