Charlie: I never looked at that! And which way then? They both look about the same. I went generally SW to the big E-W trail.

walk: I went west to the trail for a short while and then cut over to the trail along the lake, down to the small trail through the camp sites. Same route as to 14.

PBricker: I meant to say "south", not "north". I guess I went to the trail along the lake partly because I had already done that to 14, and the distance looked similar. But where you lose time on that route is going down the steep hillside: where I headed down, it was particularly rocky and trashy. AP split analysis says I lost 52 seconds, which sounds about right. given how I weaved and backtracked looking for a path down. At first I thought I had lost more because, comparing to PG, he gained two and a half minutes on me for that split: but that was mostly because he obviously picked up the pace, having a split 6 seconds slower than Will. My only big mistake was the roundabout route to 13: I can't believe I didn't spend the extra 5 seconds it would have taken to see the upper trail on the map, and realize that was the way to go.
