| swisswatch: | Hi Marc.
Hope your shinsplints get well soon. Was your running volume last winter the same as this winter? I thought your training is very alternate, because you always had some trouble with the shinsplint. But I was very surprised that you run that much. I know that running home and to school is very time efficient. But I think you should have more alternative trainings. e.g. at the weekends having more time, you should do something else than running, like XC skiing, biking.... Peter |

| Swisscheese: | Hello Swisswatch!
Thank you very much for your advise. I think you are right. I need to be carefull to build up gradually my running volume. The funny thing is, in summer time I feel like I could run as much as I want without getting injured... and in winter times I feel always very fragile. I believe one reason is that I am running more on pavement, than the cold, the slippery snow, but also because I might do suddenly some sports I am not so much used to... like skate skiing. Yes, I believe the skate skiing movement is dangerous for me, because I am using too much the medial side of my leg muscle (for the stabilisation). But, I think classical skiing, biking and Aquajogging would be perfect alternative trainings. Biking and roller skiing, those are things I can do going to school. By the way, I will try travel to school tomorrow morning with my roller skis... Cheers, Marc |
