cmorse: 5 seconds separating first and second in a 4 hour relay - pretty damn sweet!!

Although perhaps not quite as amazing as a 3 second gap between first and second at Tiomila after 9 and a half hours in the woods... :-)

I'll try and remember to ask about Harvey...

jjcote: If both boats had started together, it would have been less surprising, because there can be significant drafting in a canoe race. As it was, our guys crossed the line and were paying close attention to the clock to see if the Snoopers would cross the line within 4 minutes. Except they were under the mistaken impression that it might be only 2 minutes. If they had known for sure, it would have been incredibly nerve-wracking seeing them approaching the line with seconds to go. (I got to the finish just after our guys crossed the line, so I didn't know exactly what the time was.) We had to wait for results, with people saying, "I think we got them by either 5 seconds, or 2 minutes and 5 seconds".
