TBorish: I emailed you, but I never got a response, so I figured I'd post on attackpoint as well. I'm probably going to go to Williams next year (I'll decide for sure by May 1), so I was just wondering what opportunities there are to orienteer there. I know it's close to some A meets, but since it's out in the middle of nowhere, it seems like it would be a lot harder to orienteer there than at a school near Philly (my other choice is Princeton).

Thanks,
Tori B

JanetT: Grafton Lakes in Grafton NY is the closest O map to Williams (Empire Orienteering Club), and we could certainly get you a copy of the map. We don't have events there more than once a year, though. Mt. Tom and Norwottuck near Amherst/Northampton, MA are a little farther away.

Pat Dunlavey (orienteering mapper, semi-retired) and his wife Heather Williams live in Williamstown (Heather teaches at Williams). They might be able to answer some questions, too, as could Suzanne A. who also went to Williams.

DVOA definitely has more events on their schedule... assuming you have transportation to get to them.

Sorry to hijack your log, Ross. :-)
