| Bash: | I have two Labs sharing my couch at the moment, so this story made me teary.
My friend Leanimal was caught in a bear trap in an adventure race in fall 2006. We had a long bushwhack toward the end of the race, and their team suddenly found themselves in a bear baiting area - meat hanging from trees, etc. The trap closed on her shoe, but didn't injure her leg. Her teammate Dog Runner (AP names sound silly in a serious story) pried it off her foot, and *she* was the one who ended up going to the hospital after the race to get her lacerated fingers fixed. (This was after their team beat us in the race!) In looking into it later, it appeared that no law had been broken. Yikes. |
