Jerritt: How does the same commute take 10 minutes to walk, 12 minutes to scooter and 38 minutes to ride by bike? Have you found some wrinkle in the space/time continuum?

toddp: My definition of loggable activity is more liberal than most Attackpointers. I log all physical activity, including romantic strolls by the lake with wife, chasing the kids around the playground, etc. But I have to draw the line somewhere, and I refuse to log turning the steering wheel and working the gas pedal wilst driving my car.

On off-bike days I drive and park for free near the intersection of University Ave and Central Ave and then scooter, walk, or bus the 1.5 miles across the river to downtown Minneapolis.

I wish I could warp the time and space continuum, that might enable me to catch the prez on a red course. Until then, I'll keep training and logging, in hopes of catching him by more conventional means.

iriharding: yes... and how about all those arm exercises raising a pint of ale from the table to ones lips... it's hard work and someone has to get credit for it !!! I will now enter it as "Liquid transport (no map involved; premium yeast content)"

I still challenge anyone to come up with a better loggable activity than "Toothbrushing HA" (only allowed above 5000m) ....see my log Oct 2006 ..

toddp: Extreme toothbrushing!

Ordinary household chores, done in the right style, are also loggable.

Jerritt: toothbrushing...blah blah blah. That was two years ago. What have you done lately that we should be impressed by? It has been at least 6 months since you logged sailing. Very strenuous "James, turn the boat left." "James, anchor by that point over there."

iriharding: it really is hard work sailing. You have to navigate at same time (it is not good form to hit things) plus you have to balance the gin and tonic in one hand with the chart (= nautical map for those land bound types) in the other hand, all the whilst making sure that the crew is happy (and not about to mutiny) and that there is enough refreshment in the cooler. Keelhauling the crew or giving them 50 lashes is very hard work.....
