| andrewd: | don't think you were meant to look at the blank maps at the start, I didn't anyway! |

| Tom R: | yeh, my dad said one of the guys at the start was telling people to a bit after we all started, so i guess you werent meant to not look. |

| Quirkey: | Ah .. now i get it!
I'd deliberately folded and not looked at any maps until told to 'GO'. So was very confused seeing 'white' all around ... so not exactly map memory, but still a good challenge once i figured out what was going on. |

| Tom R: | i think it would have been a more effective training lop had we been given the map in the circle and a wee bit either side of the fence. That way it would have been more orienteering and less 'run and pray' |

| Quirkey: | I think at the Start they should have been making sure and actually pointing us to a fixed map with the first three controls and all the map detail in place. Had they done that, we wouldnt need any info at all on our carried map for that part of the course as it would be proper 'Map Memory'.
Great idea, just fell down in the excecution. Still a good event / course in all though. |

| Tom R: | I dunno, im not really crazy about map memory courses coz I think they ingrain bad technique - the aim is to run to the control without actually navigating. Not something I need to do anymore than I alredy do.
I really do hop we see the area re mapped for sprint as that is where the potential lies. |
