| Quirkey: | RHR for training purposes is supposed to be taken in the morning before you get out of bed; not when you're jumping out of the car to run up a hill !
Your real RHR will be more like 50bpm. At your current fitness level I'm sure of it. The Average person's is supposed to be around 72 Coaches usually ask elite athletes to record their HR every morning. On days when the value is 10 bpm or more higher than norm, they are supposed to ease of on any tough training planned for that day, as the rise is usually a sign of (oncoming) illness or body stress from previous day's activities. Pushing yourself too hard in such situations weakens your immune system amonst other things. Man, i have all this stuff in my head .. maybe i should become a coach or write articles for the club newsletter or something .......or maybe just do half of it myself. |

| Quirkey: | Ah ... see i should have said 'elites, such as yourself' then... ha ha
t's not uncommon for serious endurance athletes to get into the 40's or even 30's The lowest recorded is 28 attributed to a Spanish cyclist you may remember named Miguel Indurain? |
