Heffer: Good plan to do some more stretching. I'm adding more into my routine now.
Try do do dynamic stretching when warming up (if you want me to show you some exercises just ask next time you see me), and static stretching for the cool down. When static stretching hold each stretch for 30 seconds. Any shorter won't be as effective, any longer doesn't make any difference.

actually, i'll try to get to training tomoz a bit early, maybe then...if my car doesn't break down again... thats why i missed everybody last week :(

nomiii: my crazy ballet lady said that you should hold stretches for 2 minutes! because then the muscle gives up fighting and relaxes into it. i dunno. that's probably poppycock. :S

Heffer: I dunno, I read a study at uni (what? I do work at uni? NEVER) and it said there was little gain in doing a stretch over thirty seconds. May as well do another stretch, then come back and do it again later if you want to really stretch an area. But maybe doing it for over 2 minutes at a time is good.... find me the evidence MWAHAHAHA

And that's find Luke, we usually get there a little early anyway.

the facts: i only stretched for 1 minute, like 15 secs on like 4 stretches
i think josh meant do more than a minute of stretching,
but yes, 30 seconds per stretch sounds good :)

George: lol josh i'm guessing it was you who put that news out there? anyway - my opinion is that it doesn't matter whether stretching for more than 30 secs helps more or not coz i HATE stretching so would never consider doing more than 30 secs per stretch. :P
