Hi Roger - the thicket was specially created for the event so that we could make sure it was totally clear from the map and description between exactly which walls the control was hung - it didn't matter that it was small because runners would never see the thicket until also in the right place to see the control anyway.

Although that does remind me that I need to get it removed from the map as the 'thicket' itself (tree cuttings from my garden!) has now been removed from the control site!

That's okay, Jon, I'll forgive you! Graeme and I had a good laugh about it afterwards. I was looking for the classic Scottish thicket, a rhododendron bush I guess. Great course, with some important route choices.
