bl: Looks like an excellent experience/strategy practice. Did not see post-meet results/info on CNYO web page. Good mental prep for next month I'd guess. Prob wish I'd done it- a match for Snowgaine - but it was not on my radar . What do you use for night light?

kadley: I'm beginning to realize strategy is much more important for this race. If you make any serious mistakes, you can't recover the way you do in a rogaine. Also, it's easy to get all the easy high value controls early, and then find yourself with nothing useful to go after during the last segment. Last year I finished an hour early, because there was nothing within range after I completed my final -- too short -- loop.

I use a special headlamp my son Dan built that uses three 4 watt LEDs. It has a rechargeable Li-ion battery pack that I've tested for over 24 hrs at low intensity. At full power, it gets hot so I only use that for short periods. It really is bright!

Not sure if they'll post the results any time soon -- seem to be a bit slack on that. Most of the competition was in Masters. I passed Eric Smith about 200 meters from the hash house and told him to pick it up for the run in. He declined and it turns out we tied on points, so I beat him on the few seconds difference in time! Shows you've got to fight right to the finish.
