Dynamic stretching - I do these as a warm up to get the joints moving. It's where you stretch with movement, but without overstrainging a muscle, just working within your range of movement. Static stretching - I do these after a run or conditioning when I'm warm, they're not really effective if you're not warm. These are your typical style of stretches where you have a position and hold it for a period of time. These improve your muscluar flexibility, rather than warming up the joints. |
