Nev-Monster: What skiis should I bring home? Well, I mean, how good of skiis should I bring home, I'll bring skate and classic, just maybe not my good ones.

Do you have a decent wax bench set up? I might bring home my wax form and iron if you want to do some waxing.

Need anything from Fresh Air?

Sudden: Don't bring your best skis, especially since the snow might disappear this weekend. They are calling for light rain.

I don't have any wax bench at all. I usually use Duntroon's.

Nev-Monster: Would me bringing my ski form home be useful? I don't have a good basement to wax in, but others might.

hammer: Time spent waxing is time not training. Suck it up princess!

Sudden: I'm going up to Duntroon Boxing Day so don't bring the form because of me.

Nev-Monster: Reece Rendall, the head of Madshus Canada (Beckie's biggest fan) told me about going to Norway and meeting the Alsgaard's coach, who was also Norway's coach at the time. Reece asked him, what sort of waxes they used for training, wanting to know whether it was the VR series or the regular ones. The coach said "we use Blue Extra, that's all. If it doesn't work right, we tell the skiers to work harder." Yves Bilodeau, Canadian wax tech advises everyone to use Blue Extra, if that doesn't work, Blue extra and a kick in the ass usually does.

Nev-Monster: Russ Evans: I don't know, waxing is pretty important if you want to ski fast....

theshadow: Yukon wax: Rode super blue. Period. IF you want to venture out when it is -25 or colder. cover it with green.
EXCEPT this year when it doesn't matter what I put on my skis because dirt, pine needles and bark always give good grip;)

Nev-Monster: I don't really know Super Blue that well, mostly use Blue Extra and then up to the Multi-grade purple. The Start Tar series are awesome old skool waxes too.

hammer: I like that. Blue kick wax or a kick in the ass...
Nev, did you guys have the ski base prep fund raisers at Westdale like I did. I think the turbotar? aged me a bit.... Silver klister with dabs of purple kick wax is what I used when I set my PB for 10K (that was 24 years ago now).

Nev-Monster: Were those the races in which Greg Anderson beat you running on skiis?

#  Posted 2005-12-23 22:03:53
hammer: Greg beat me at Valens once when the snow had drifted so badly that you couldn't ski. My PB was at Horseshoe at +1C in freezing rain - perfect track setting and super fast. Nev, we are running at 8am on Sat from Hans' house. See you there? Glogg afterwards. Alcohol before lunch. A GCG bender!
