Bash: There seems to be a statistically significant correlation between your biking time and the number of positive behaviours in a day. This suggests one of two things:

1) Biking relaxes you and makes you feel and act in positive ways for the rest of the day, or

2) Your list of behaviours is heavily weighted toward biking, e.g. proper braking, signalling your turns, wearing a helmet, etc. ;-)

barb: Interesting. Well, I get 1 point for each of two hours of aerobic exercise, so the biking contributes directly that way. But nothing else directly related, I'm sad to say! Biking for an hour or two does mean one or two fewer hours to struggle against temptation, and there are some temptation items on the list. On the other hand, biking usually takes me past multiple Dunkin Donutses...

vmeyer: Multiple DD - is this a NE phenomenon? Roger and I always comment on the number of DD as we are driving to my aunt's house in Philly. We have limited choices here, though possibly a web search will lead me to some I don't know about.

Boojums: Yeah, there's a DD on basically every corner in MA. It's one of those New England charm things.

jjcote: There was actually a skit on Saturday Night Live years ago that mentioned this. They had a game show called "What's The Best Way?", which was a show that made sense only to New Englanders. One of the questions was how many Dunkin Donuts one would pass on some particular driving route.

I also once had a blind date once with a woman* originally from Waco, who commented that it seemed like there were as many Dunkin' Donutses in Massachusetts as there were churches in Texas.

*What kind of people does one find by answering a personal ad? All sorts, probably. This one was reasonably pleasant, but she also, intriguingly, happened to be a crosseyed hunchback.

Boojums: The transcript is hilarious. I wish I could see it.

#  Posted 2008-05-19 09:46:50
jjcote: I never actually saw it, my brother just told me about it. Apparently not everybody could do the accent right. And there are at least three problems I can see in the transcript:
1) Too bad the transcriber couldn't spell "Worcester".
2) 95N to Nashua? That ain't gonna work.
3) Dorchester is south of Shrewsbury? Not south as I know it!

#  Posted 2008-05-20 06:59:19
Boojums: Maybe I shouldn't share this, but with the way the Sox are playing right now it sure seems like a good deal.

#  Posted 2008-05-20 08:18:09
jjcote: A free iced tea if I get a cute little pizza for lunch. There's some potential here, perhaps. There's a DD within walking distance of my office. It would have been cool if they had added something extra for the day after a no-hitter.

#  Posted 2008-05-20 09:17:25
Boojums: Yeah, tomorrow you should be getting the little pizza free, too. I'm sure it's possible with enough charm applied.

#  Posted 2008-05-20 10:00:24
jjcote: Don't assume that everyone has your level of charm talent, Cristina.

#  Posted 2008-05-20 16:19:50
barb: Good thing the free ice coffee doesn't come with a corn muffin or I might lose 3 points.

#  Posted 2008-05-21 00:44:50
peggyd: Too bad it's only for DDs in New England. We have a DD in my building & I'd love some free iced tea.
But ... our DD doesn't serve pizza. So, two strikes. :-(

#  Posted 2008-05-21 02:15:19
jjcote: Yeah, and the patrons of your DD are probably Nationals fans.
