| Wyatt: | Intervals on the treadmill, eh? Clem thinks that's what got his glute upset and we're already down to only 1 of the 3 Va-Bank II'ers in good running health.
The climb may help - if you are going to do intervals on the treadmill, doing them slower, and on an incline is probably a little better for you, as the range of (not-ideal) motion won't be as far. If only you could get out and do your intervals in the morning, on the grass. There's probably not much snow left there either, right? |

| j-man: | I think that is a good point Wyatt. When I hopefully get back to doing treadmill intervals, I am going to start re-emphasizing climb rather than speed as the stress variable. |

| speedy: | Yeap, actually I tried only once to set "high" speed on the treadmill (like up to 9.5mph) and it wasn't nice, just too fast ... and one of down point you must control your moves more carefully than on the grass or track where you can slow down and speed up a little bit.
And I NEVER run on treamills w/out incline, my minimum is 2.5% which I try to increase up to 3% as default for me. In that case using Daniels' book you can easely recalculate what speed/incline you should use for your treadmill workout to "match" your normal workouts on the track ... So, I think 9.5mph is a top limit for intervals on the treadmill. But I would suggest using 9.0mph with different incline levels. |
