bill_l: how are you 'picking it up'? I'm assuming that you're not supposed to lift anything heavy? do you need/want some help?

what does "fairly offset" mean? is that a good thing?

fthfl stwrd rudy: my son has offered to make the rounds w/ me, but thanks!

Fairly offset means the two halves of the bone are overlapped, but about 3/4" apart. Seems like a big gap to grow together but apparently they mostly do. Even in the best case scenario, there'll be a big lump there and my shoulders won't be lined up perfectly...so the surgeon does good work, lining everything up like it was before and pinning it together, before it grows together. But with all the hard knocks lately, it seemed better not to add surgery to the list.

fthfl stwrd rudy: thx, afflito, i think rick is bringing over his trainer tonite.
Hey, I'll do some mountain biking!!! Oh... maybe not. But if anybody wants to have a group trainer ride, we can set up in my front yard.

afflitto: Both sound great....let me see what week works and we can work it out......can we go to Castlewood? Rudy, can I use my mountain bike on a trainer? Besides, Tyler Hamilton rode his bike with a broken collar bone, come on!!! Why can't you? JK..........

bill_l: Yep castlewood is good. I'll be in NY weekend of June 14 for NA Champs Rogaine.

Rudy, you should be healed up by then?

#  Posted 2008-05-22 19:51:59
fthfl stwrd rudy: Castlewood should be dried up by then... but shoulder healing, i dont know - 4 weeks to next x-ray, no lifting, impact or arm raising, then they will tell me more. but 3-6 months to get to full strength...if it gets to full strength.

Be very careful out there.
