| nightfox: | Soon it's time for the world's best juniors to fight for their most wanted medals.
What team does your country send in to battle in the hard Gothenburg terrain? JWOC opens with sprint (30 June), then middle qualification (2 July) and final (3 July). After that it's long-distance (5 July) and finally the relay (6 July). JWOC Website Event (Attackpoint ) Host (Attackpoint ) |

| DHemer: | Thankfully this time we are not the smallest like in 2006
Still only 2 ppl though South Africa Dylan Hemer,19, Witsoc Alex Pope,20,Witsoc There are a few names above i recognise. I have beaten Hendrik (Estonia) before, but that could have been the altitude getting to him. We got spare place in our relay if any1 is looking ;) Had a slovakian run with us in Lituania to make up the team. |

| mood: | You need be in a national team to run the relay, right? If not, maybe I could run in your team. Because I'll be in Göteborg during jwoc running the spectator races. |

| nightfox: | Welcome to Gothenburg DHelmer!!
But hey mood. Why are you not running for Sweden?! |
| # Posted 2008-05-22 11:47:27 | |
| ap: | Gothenburg is great in the summer, why don“t take the chance and run the spectator races during JWOC, more information about that on www.gmok.nu/jwoc2008
I can already now tell you that we are planning to broadcast the "speakersound" live and there will also be live results during the JWOC races. Enjoy! |

| DHemer: | Hmm i think you need to be one of the competitors from a national team unfortunatly. It makes you an unofficial team but at least you get to compete.
@nightfox: Thanks, will be good to be back in sweden, ran at O'ringin last year. Very different from my usual terrain in South Africa |

| mood: | nightfox: I wasn't in good shape at the jwoc-test :P
DHemer: Ok, then maybe you should try to find someone else. And if you don't I can still run for you :) |

| DHemer: | So there are a few ppl on the site who are going to be at Jwoc but they seem quiet.
What are ur goal, where do u think ur best chances lie. What are you looking forward too. I am looking to make the B middle distance final, nothing special but an improvment on my previous attempt. Think my best race is going to be the Sprint, would have got a mid field placing in Lithuania if it was not for a stupid mistake on one control where i dropped 2 min, in a 15 min race. ouch... I am looking forward to being in such an orienteering focused community, will make a change for ppl who never know what it is. Oh and the party...fond memories.. |

| nightfox: | DHelmer>> Train to lift your feets! Train it hard!! The high grass is growing high over here... That will spare you some minutes in the final courses!
And yeah. I forgot our clubs UK runner! Hector Haines! He's so fast and cool! Gogo GMOK-runners!! Now it's five members from the club running JWOC. Hmm..maybe couse we are arranging and they wanted to take a shortcut this season. Will be interesting to see if they get payback when the medals is to be given away. Ahh...whatever! i hope everyone will win something and have a good time in Göteborg! |

| cedarcreek: | I sent an email to the JWOC organizers asking about online streaming and this is the answer I got:
"There will be online audio streaming from the JWOC races, we will also publish some short video clips with interviews during the race days, and longer videos on the evenings. "We will also have live results during each competition day. "More detailed information about this will come during next week. "For your information, the commentators will speak English. "I hope you will enjoy the JWOC competitions. "Best Regards Andreas Persson JWOC 2008" I haven't seen any links yet---I've noticed they often show up too late for people to plan around the times, so if you notice them on the JWOC site, please let us know here. |

| ap: | Comment to Cedarcreek>> We will publish our renewed website on wednesday, there you will find starttimes etc.
We will start our broadcast around 30 min before first start each day, it will also be possible to send messages to the commentators. Could be interesting facts about the runners, music requests, it is up to you! So far the competitors have experienced a typical Swedish summer, (if you ask Shep for ex). But I have seen some forecasts (in which I choose to believe) that the weather next week will be better. |
