GrantM: may be the way to go. Take a week off running. Just swimming, bike riding, and pool running.

Big D: i agree.
i had an achilles problem a few years back, and belinda may be able to give you some advice as well. basic diagnosis was stretch and strengthen calves and soleus.

Heffer: May as well do the rest of RICE too if it's a soft tissue problem. It won't do you any harm.

ive made a great start to my rest from running...today i raced 6 km and on sun i have the selection race :). i spose ill just ride tomorrow and maybe a short swim on saturday
