simmo: Did you know the Head Ranger reads Attackpoint logs?

I don't recall there being permanent O markers at Reabold, but there once was a 'sweat track'. It was eventually moved to Perry Lakes, and some of the equipment is still there (but little used). I'd say the X5 meant 5 repetitions of whatever exercise was there. In those days, people only knew about press-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, burpees, and star jumps. There weren't any physiologists around then!

I have seen a Reabold staff person on my last couple of Saturday runs, wandering around taking photos (but not far from their vehicle!).

fletch: I'm pretty sure there was a permanent course, but I doubt I can dig out a map with the control locations. Have seen more than one marker on trees over the years

Tooms: This was nowhere near the sweat track that I used to see. The sweat track was around the western lake - hurdles, dip bars, ab crunch benches etc, some remnants remain. This was in a gully on an old overgrown sand track in a gully maybe 3mins south west of Marapana/Oceanic junction! (ranger couldn't get a vehicle in there!!) Definitely an old Permanent marker, and much more sturdy than the 3 or 4 others that schools had nailed up on the trails back in the early 90s. There was one on camel lake trail on the gravel hill, and at least two others I can remember that were about 100mm square and nailed up.
