| Bash: | I'm proud of you!

| 'Bent: | Let me know- I have a meeting with the Region of Peel waste director next Thursday. |

| Crash: | I would like to have this guy fined for littering, or dumping, how do you think I could do this? Also, a group of youngin's burned the large pile of brush that was collected; had a party there, and left another tonne of cr%p - also searing off the sides of all the surrounding trees - lucky we didn't get another forest fire out of the deal...arrgh! It is never ending... |

| Bash: | Regarding the dumping, you could call the OPP or the TRCA and ask them what can be done. I know that the TRCA has had little success in prosecuting, but it might be enough punishment just if the person knows that they've been caught. |

| Tiny: | Mail the trash back. I love this idea. I think you should also write a nice letter to the person about how you found their trash and thought they might have misplaced it so you felt it was your duty to return it to them in case they were looking for it. Be sarcastic as hell. |

| Bash: | Good point. You could ask if maybe they're offering a reward, like for a lost wallet. |

| rocky: | Way to go Crash! When I was going through the dead animal thing the Region of Peel was very interested however, it was TRCA land. When I contacted TRCA they were also interested but they forwarded me on to the Town of Caledon. There is a bylaw against dumping that carries a fine of up to $2000. http://www.caledon.ca/contentc/townhall/1987-100No...
To contact the bylaw officer - Complaints & Inquiries: (905) 584-2272 x.4288 from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm (Monday to Friday) After Hours Emergencies: 1-800-563-7881 |
| # Posted 2008-05-28 01:44:13 | |
| Bash: | Do you know if they ever caught up with the dead animal dumper? |
| # Posted 2008-05-28 01:48:36 | |
| rocky: | No, and he/she is still doing it! |
| # Posted 2008-05-28 01:52:16 | |
| Bash: | Disgusting. I wonder if the Ministry of Agriculture would be interested. They are probably trying to get around some law that requires farms to dispose of dead animals safely, i.e. not dropping them into people's water supply! |

| rocky: | At the time I spoke to the guy at the ministry that is in charge of "dead stock" he came out right a way to have a look and did a csi on the animals and the area, he then contacted the town to come and clean it up. He said there was not much they can do unless they catch the person in the act. Short of having a mad animal dumping video cam or setting up 24x7 surveillance team I don't think there is much we can do either. |

| Crash: | sooo..update...tomorrow AM the box will be neatly tied and addressed and delivered - at the very least it will let them know not to mess with Duffys Lane - or any other green space for that matter - wish I could see their faces when it arrives - thought I might add some trash of my own as well...maybe some salmon bits from today's cooking...mmm...:) |
| # Posted 2008-05-28 10:46:24 | |
| Bash: | Hee hee! :-) That's beautiful.
I hope nobody is home - they're not going to be pleased. |
| # Posted 2008-05-28 21:15:34 | |
| Crash: | to cover my a$$ I am going to post it...is that too sheepish of me? Though it would be good, as they will be so excited to get a parcel, but then...ha ha! |
| # Posted 2008-05-28 22:48:06 | |
| Bash: | I think that's smart. I hate to be paranoid, but you don't know these people. |
| # Posted 2008-05-29 20:18:53 | |
| Leanimal: | Ohhh I can't wait to hear the outcome of this! Great job Crash! |
