z-man: Hopefully it ends before the US Champs, I know how it feels though, painful isn't just strong enough of a word to tell it all.

Spike: What is the longest break (not even any alternative training)? Maybe it is time for a couple of weeks off.

BorisGr: What will you guys read in your spare time if I stop training?? :)
Seriously, though, everything I've read about muscle tears says that complete rest doesn't make any difference, and given how frustrated I already am, resting completely will just make me miserable.

Wyatt: I personally don't recall many overuse injuries for which complete rest was helpful, so I'm with Boris on this. I wonder if there's a strap, or a pineapple or something I can find in the garage...

ndobbs: rest periods are good for writing phds... you could consider working really really hard for a while on your side-job :) although this is more fun in winter...
