Nick: i found the long course a good preparation for CZE ( except stony ground for footing). some good long legs ,some vague slope sides of the big hill, and ..climb and hot.. a good one

wilsmith: Glad you enjoyed it. Just looking at the map it didn't seem like fun. There were a lot of tough route choices though - some of which looked so difficult that it would have been tempting to skip a control altogether! I don't doubt that it was good preparation for CZE - I just think it may not have been too enjoyable (similar to my sentiments about the long in CZE). Keep up your long-distance preparations, Nick - your status as first alternate may actually come into play at WOC....

Nick: i took the benefits, some bruises, a blister and lessons learned. after a pretty good start , i wanted to be technical towards 6 and instead going uphill thru the top i decided different-put a mistake and add 4-4.5 min there. rushed (like one should not do ) and add another 70 sec 2 controls later.. choosed a over the hill and long route choice instead of around on flat or some downhill, another 3 mi.. good one though..
