That's the old route of the Long Trail over Stratton (or maybe the current route)? How is it better than the trail up the backside of Okemo, which I think is pretty nice? How much is runnable? I haven't been up it for decades.

The Okemo trail is flat at the start, goes up some switchbacks, then has a long horizontal traverse before the final half mile climb to the summit. The Stratton AT/LT is a steady climb for all 3.5 miles.

So I found the Stratton grade runnable all the way up, and down, too. I ran Okemo, but some places would have been just as fast to walk. Okemo has some rock hopping; there was very little on Stratton.

Also planning to do a loop over Stratton and back by way of Stratton Pond. That will add another 3-4 miles and should be a great tour (and maybe a swim).

I've done the Okemo trail several times, always walked a couple places early on. I'm impressed you run it all. Which leads me to believe I would be walking places on the Stratton trail too.

My recollection is that the descent to Stratton Pond is steep in places. But the 4 miles from there back out to the road is really nice.
