fthfl stwrd rudy: I have some smaller packs you could use if they were suitable.

bill_l: I wouldn't mind checking them out... I just need to be able to load two camelbak bladders and run the tubing. Although, this close to race date, I might just go with what I know.... What models do you have?

I've got a some camelbak packs but they're not much good for use on foot. They have a rubber patch at the base that rubs the skin off the small of the back after an extended period of time.

fthfl stwrd rudy: I have a couple of camelbaks but as far as i can tell they have no rubber patches, one is an old small backpack, you've probably seen me with it, use it a lot when i'm biking, Cloudwalker, the other one looks like it would be perfect for two bladders called Blowfish ...also the Salomon pack from Castlewood -dont know if thats any smaller than what you got.

Kirkland: Regarding the rubbing of the small of your back, I have had that happen too many times and have a remedy. I've come up with a handy device (patent pending) that eliminates this totally. I'll bring it with me and we can fix one up for you if you want. Wal-Mart has what we need, they just don't know what they have.

bill_l: Rudy, I've got a Blowfish.... Definitely the right size and it certainly has room for a 2nd bladder in the cargo compartment, but there are no ports for tubing. I'll take another look at it tonight.

Gary, I'm definitely curious. If it's easy to do, I'd give it a try. Would open up my pack options. I was thinking about putting a big piece of moleskin over the rubber patch but not sure how long it would stay....

Kirkland: I'm taking a Blowfish but may only use a 70 oz baldder. I have a trail lumbar pack that has a 28 oz as well. I may use both instead of the 100 oz bladder.

And, the rub preventer is easy to do and I have not had an issue with rubbing since I've starting using it. Let's see if it works for you.

bill_l: I'll take my regular race pack and the blowfish. Between them I should be ok. I'll definitely give the rub preventer a try!
