We've added a page on the web-site for the finale event of the WCOC's - the Sprint Challenge. This event will be a fundraiser for the High Performance Program, and not only will you have fun running in this event, you might also take away some prizes. ALSO - it has also been accepted into the US Sprint Series schedule. This means that on the Monday - there will be 2 Sprints each counting 40 points in the Sprint Series.

Check out the web-site for a photo of the Sprint Challenge 'Arena' and read the format rules to prepare yourself for this unique fast-paced event. While you're on the web-site, watch the Coyote Canyon video if you haven't seen it yet.

As of now there are more than 120 registrants for the Western Canadian Orienteering Championships which start in less than three weeks. Thanks everyone who's planned to come so far.

Even with the mad registration rush over the past few days - there is still room for more. So we're extending the deadline a few more days to end of this Friday - June 13th. After Friday, the registration price will definitely increase. These is your last chance to register for the entire event at the $207 all-inclusive price for adults.

The WCOC Web-site has a list of current registrants, make sure your club is well represented.

If you've already registered - we'll see you in a few weeks. Meet Notes and directions will come out next week. Start times soon after that. If you haven't registered yet - go to http://www.orienteeringalberta.ca/wcoc2008 to see what you don't want to miss.

Thanks so much for putting on a fundraiser for the national team! It is very much appreciated. It looks like it will be a lot of fun AND you get to support the national team AND it is part of the sprint series. Awesome!

Yes, thanks very much for putting this on! My only regret is that I won't be able to make it there to take part in it myself. It promises to be a great event (a great weekend of events) on some really cool terrain - wish I could be there too.

This will be the biggest WCOC's for the past 5-yrs based on attendance. The weather forecast looks great too - sunny but not too hot.

The Elite categories should be be exciting - 2 current National team members will be attending. And imagine a Sprint Challenge heat between some of those names....

Meet Notes have been posted on the web-site.

We're creating the start lists this weekend - but you still a few more days before registration closes.
