Tane: Nah the reason we didnt put the climb on was because we didnt get a hold of any maps until thursday night, the courses were not finalised until about 2 minutes before the first starter. I had to draw up a mock course in OCAD without knowing exactly where the course went...so we had to print control descriptions out at about 10pm on saturday without distance or climb. The distance displayed on the board was just a random guess by Hamish...as I found out as we were driving home! Was a pretty hectic few days with 2 Assignments due on Monday and this course to help out with on Sunday....

Tane: Oh and did you have any trouble with that control on the spur by that cliff near the sea? just up from an erosion gully. number 61 maybe? Cause the feature is blatantly not there! I spend half an hour on sunday morning trying to figure it out an then realised it was a dumb place to let hamish put a control and should have actually checked this control out before hand.....

Greig: I didn't have trouble with the control you are talking about as you could see the control from miles away. Just measured the course on Ocad I get 7.8km. Lots of the controls were really obvious and easy to spot from a distance so it ended up being a pretty easy course in the end.

I noticed the circles on the long red course were a bit sloppy. ;-)

birdman: How many laps did you have to do to get 7.8km? Or is there a version of the Godley Head map that covers a lot more territory than the one I've "run" (now that was a nasty South Island winter day!) on?

Greig: The course looped back on itself a few times, not a bad course overall. It used most of the available map out there except for the tunnels and building which are currently out of bounds.
