Leanimal: I hadn't read your report until now but I agree that I much prefer when the rogaine is more interesting when it can't be "swept". I think I am changing my tune about that since I didn't used to like having to make those decisions but now I enjoy the extra mental challenge. It just adds more strategy and I also like the 6-hour time limit. It brings everyone in at around the same time which to me makes the post race chatter even more exciting.... thanks for setting a great course. I know it took a lot of work!

Bash: Thanks, Leanimal. One thing we've both learned from our course setting is that it's tough to design a course that will work for people of all abilities - and you can never keep everyone happy. I knew that the nav would be too easy for the members of the national orienteering team and that they would hate the Photo Challenge. But we had other teams who found the nav difficult. A number of people - including BobTheNavigator - told me that they really enjoyed switching brain gears to look for the photos. It's a difficult balancing act to please as many racers as possible.

You've clearly mastered the art of rogaining - congrats on your victory in the U.S. this weekend! :-)
