Bash: From our last rogaine there, I remember that one of our route planning strategies was to highlight ridges on the map and think of them as "highways" that we could follow to collect controls without giving up too much elevation. Even if we travelled more distance, that was better than going up and down too often.

hammer: The hills on the west end of the map are bigger and steeper! Be sure you are on the correct hill or ridge before going up or down. Good luck

backwoods: like Bash said....remember to "contour"...go around them instead of over. WIth that said, I think we still climbed nearly 7000ft and we finished a few hours early! Good luck and have a blast!

Bash: 'Bent and 3PinJim climbed about 15,000' and only got one more control than Backwoods and I did. Heh heh.
