Swampfox: Looks like an area that, with respect to contours and trails, could be fairly relevent to Denmark.

PG: Yup, that's why the training camp is here. And then Sunday will be on an area right next to where the North Americans will be in October.

Swampfox: And to think that I had imagined the Danes had picked their World Champs areas based on the terrains to be used for this Hamilton training camp. Wrong again!!

hammer: This evening we heard an excellent (and very inspirational) presentation by Holger Hott Johansen on what to expect for Denmark. He mentioned that some areas of Dundas Valley are similar to Denmark. Short steep hills, some fine contour detail with no rock, sections of good visibility then large clumps of thick crap. BUT, the ground is much much softer here - and especially given the winter thaw we are going through at the moment.

I think that sections of Ganaraska (1992 WC area that was won by a Dane) and Horseshoe Valley (1994 NAOC) are likely more similar to Denmark than Dundas Valley.

Swampfox: I imagine it will be *much* easier to prepare for the kind of runnability/underfooting waiting in Denmark than was the case for Sweden in '04. I still have dreams of sinking down in blueberries and moss that were higher than me!
