cmorse: I've nailed exactly one FDF so far this year (not that I've gotten out much lately). But I haven't seen any others at all.... Jim says the woods at Crandalls were pretty devoid of FDF's too. You coming down this weekend?

Wyatt: We've supposedly got horseflies out here already. Those don't seem to common around here, but I've had to swat away a few.

We also saw what appeared to be a swarm of a few thousand bees go by (heading north) at the Fatlands registration. The cloud just grazing my & Mark Frank's heads and fortunately not stopping. None of us had ever seen such a large cloud of bees. Apparently it's normal though...

jjcote: If they were in fact honeybees, it's good to hear that there are still a few left around.

feet: I saw a few this morning in the Bristol Hills south of Rochester. Not annoying yet.

jjcote: Saturday afternoon a whole bunch of bugs flew by, not far from where I was standing, and another guy said that it was a swarm of bees.
