Nadim: I like that section a lot. I ran it again last winter with light snow on the ground going from Rte 28 northward to above Germantown Rd. It's something to savor. When you go south of Rte 28. there are a few hills but it is mostly flat for 4 miles until you get to Berryville Rd. After that there's much more up and down but the woods are a bit greener. The parking is good at Rte. 28, just passable for a couple cars at Berryville Rd., the same at Seneca Rd. and good at Riley's Lock. You might try running the trail from Rte. 355 and head north. There are some flat and marshy spots but good rolls and few roads. I actually like the flat areas anywhere on the trail (when they are dry) since they give you a chance to get used to running fast and long.
