fthfl stwrd rudy: I've been running the cold shower water on my legs after working out, and it does seem to have a positive effect. Maybe the ice water will turn out better than a root canal.

bill_l: At least I can decide when I'm done with the ice bath...

Couldn't bring myself to actually sit in a tub of ice water. Got just above the knees and then splashed water up onto quads and hams.

It did seem to help. I need to figure out a way to do an ice bath immediately after an event is done.... Finding the right container to allow immersion above the knee will be the trick. Maybe a kitchen trash can?

Yukon King: wasnt there a link a while ago to some female athlete's training where there was a picture of her sitting in one of those steel physio tanks up to her waist, and she's smiling away, and the explan says she does an icebath after EVERY training session. aaaahhh... I know ice feels good after a while on a given spot, but half yer body?! I dont think I'd ever get used to that.

bill_l: I don't think I saw that. But the guy who did a marathon every day, for a bunch of days in a row last year, sat in an ice bath at the end of each event. He was smiling for his picture...

I have to admit, the 2nd bath did seem easier, well, less of a shock, than the first. Maybe it is something you get used to....
