vmeyer: Nice job on the sprint - you were right up there in the mix!

BorisGr: Route choice questions:
1) Why did you climb coming out of #1 rather than drop to the trail?
2) What was the consensus going 6 to 7? Both ways around the fence look about the same, but I wonder how you made your decision.

Thanks for posting everything so quickly!!!
And, nice work in the sprint!

PG: 1. Everything was slippery, so dropping into #1 was a bit scary, so I just did a u-turn and headed back up. But the real reason is I had a terrible time finding the start and #1 on the map, and then lost my place and then didn't find them again until I was much of the way to #1. So I pretty much just thought to go back out of 1 and what general direction 2 was. The footing was really dicey, even with spikes, and that added a bit of stress.
2. I think more went down from 6 to 7, but most didn't see it until they were almost at the fence. I know my planning ahead was not as sharp as it should have been. I think a couple of guys went over the fence (6-8' high chain link fence). At the moment I realized the fence had no gaps, around to the right looked better.

The key is going to be who is leading the sprint series (male division) after next weekend....

hammer: Patrick, Leif and I time tested 6 to 7 afterwards. The illegal straight route (ahem Duca) was 20 seconds faster than right that was 10 seconds faster than left. I went left inthe race and this in combination with a bad fall is where I lost most of my time to Mike Smith. This sprint area was my choice for the NAOC sprint since it is 10 minutes to where the middle and long will be. But the 'just go straight' approach didn't seem very sprint-like. But it was good for training. Some said it would have been good sprint training area for WOC 2004.

BorisGr: Looks like a very nice course, wish I could have run it.

j-man: Ah yes, Rattlesnake Point. I have fond memories of camping there in the broad reentrant between 6 and 7.

I'm with Boris.
