The 2008 Canadian Champs take place August 16-24 in New Brunswick

Website: www.orienteering.nb.ca/coc2008/

This will be a great week of events. Here are some of the top things you can expect:

* Fishbones, the fabulous pre-event including Sprint, Middle, Long. When was the last time you had an event organized by a World Champion, a North American Champion, and a Canadian Champion? You know it has to be good.

* the annual Sass Peepre Junior camp where national team members provide coaching to juniors from across North America in a three-day residential training camp.

* Hopewell Rocks sprint event. We've mapped the ocean floor and set courses on it. Start times and course closing are very dependent on the tides.

* the COF Conference including sessions on: Course setting, SportIdent timing, Coaching workshop, environment impact, Route Choice (presented by World Champion Holger Hott), and a panel discussion with the COF board about orienteering in Canada

* The COC races themselves! All taking place in Fundy National Park, near the town of Alma. Well designed, technical courses utilizing some of the very best parts of the Fundy National Park map.

* Two World Ranking Events (the COC Sprint & COC Middle distance races)

* Three North American Sprint series events (all 50 pointers!)

* The COC lobster banquet.

* Accommodation on the map. Either camping or at the Fundy Highland Chalets. Other accommodation options in the town of Alma. But reserve soon as it will be fairly busy.

Register soon (today?) because:
* prices increase July 14
* Lobster dinner is limited to first 100 people
* generous refund policy if you have to cancel out
* booking accommodation soon is a good idea too
