| Terry: | I just stopped to do a little yoga in the middle of my run today and thought of you.
I've been doing yoga on and off. Like, I'll be consistent for 2 or 3 months, then I'll do very little for 2 or 3 months. I'm wondering whether that does more harm than good, because I'm in one of my "doing very little" stages and I feel REALLY stiff. Hey, I think I'm moving to Seattle at the end of this month. |

| JohnL: | Welcome back to Seattle - when you get here. It certainly is nice up here right now. Let me know if you need a place to stay.
I like doing yoga in the middle runs or bike rides. Did my most usual route today with 10 minutes in the middle. I have been doing more yoga in general - or I should say - "yoga-like" things - because yoga is such a broad term these days - there are so many disciplines. Almost anything can be considered yoga if you are focusing on parts of your body in a yoga way. Even standing or breathing can be done in a yoga way. I think any focused exercise is good as long as you stay within some practical limits - usually defined by pain or injury. The stiffness is actually a good thing - it makes it easier to identify where your body tightens up and where you can focus your stretching or strength exercises for the most benefit. |

| Terry: | John, it is so nice to have you offer me a place to stay! I asked Teriyaki Donut, and they said "yes". We still have to talk over the details.
I'm not exactly clear on how the stiffness is a good thing, but it does make yoga feel more urgent or necessary, and I kind of enjoy that. When I was in my 20's it didn't seem so. |
