toddp: Insomnia after going up high is quite common. Physical performance at altitude can be quite fickle. You many perform well at altitude on many trips in a row and then bam, it hits you hard for some unknown reason. It's all part of the game, especially for us midwestern lowlanders.

Wouldn't it be great if we all had time to acclimatize before our mountain adventures? It is tough to be a Minnesota mountaineer.

O Steve!: yeah, I have had some problems before but nothing like this trip....I couldnt believe I was having trouble in Breckenridge...I could tell thing were not nomal....we got lucky with the weather and I got my physical act together enough to have a decent go at Quandry...I want to go back and do more....so I will factor in the need to accimalitize a bit more but it makes it tough when you only have so much time.....if I had to do it over I might have headed straight to the mountains the first day to sleep higher....we are already discussing some peaks for the future.....Kari did great had had an easier go of it although she did have some trouble sleeping.....

you ever go to the mountains?

toddp: I was once an avid climber.

Here I am on thin ice.

Trying not to crap my pants at Palisade Head.

I have made many mad dashes out west, just hoping that the altitude gain just didn't catch up with me on the climbs.
