| bbrooke: | It seems that a certain Texan is planning to horn-in on Laramie's most precious resource. (Two of your favorite topics coverging -- Texans and Laramie wind!)
Texas oilman T. Boone Pickens wants to supplant oil with wind |

| Swampfox: | Well, he has a piece in the opinion section WSJ too, but that doesn't make him all bad. Planning for the Laramie Defensive Perimeter Windbelt (or PIZZA, for short) is well underway and ultimately will be comprised of over 113,000 wind turbines of various sizes, some about as big as the smaller of the eastern states. A test phase is under construction right now, immediately west of Cheyenne. The surplus energy to be developed from the resource will be used to illuminate the Veep's office, which, considering the current occupant of the office, is overdue for some illumination.
But if he really wanted to make some money, he would figure out a way to supplant oil with Far Ants, of which Texas has a few. |

| disorienteer: | He can have the ones from our yard. We'd be willing to sell them to him for, oh, say a buck a piece. Then Tom can retire early and train 24/7. (ONE of us will still have to work. ;-) |
