Joe: everything on your schedule is a big ?

arcticQn: 7/19-20: This weekend is my mom's 24hr.
7/26: Jay is unfortunately closed, i waited tooooo long... :o(
8/9-10: I would like to do the du-o, but we regsistered for CHad's XTerra the day after....not sure if I can do both.. physically.
8/16-17: Definitely going to the Laurentian.
8/23-24: Not the COCs..too far a drive and less than a week after the Rogaine.
9/6-7: UNO Camping weekend!! you should come up!
9/27-28: Not going to the NAOC (I'm going to be in Nebraska...i know it doesn't sound like a good tradeoff, but it's for a good reason.)
9/5: I would like to do the Highlander
9/11: DuO 3... I am planning on going to this one!!

That's all I got for now. When are we doing the Presi Traverse?? Or at least another presi ass-whopping with good food and beer afterwards!?

Joe: I will try to get up to quebec for the rogaine. uno is on my schedule. most likely do the shag sept 27. definately doing highlander. I have two sprints in august and one in september which fill up the schedule. whats happening on aug 30? maybe presi then?

#  Posted 2008-07-15 03:09:19
arcticQn: Cool. Who will you rogaine with?
nothing so far on Aug 30. Let's do it...now hopefully there are no gale force winds or blizzards that weekend.
Having fun in Czech? Say hi to people for me! Wish I was there!!

#  Posted 2008-07-16 03:18:46
arcticQn: I know, no US Champs... stupid erin. stupid seemingly misplaced priorities.. stupid oil prices.. :o(

#  Posted 2008-07-16 13:57:09
szurcher: I can't believe your not coming... am I ever going to see you again?

#  Posted 2008-07-17 20:28:41
feet: Funny to see the Presi Traverse comment: I was just checking your log to see whether you were going to be around this weekend (I'm taking advantage of a week in Boston to revisit the Whites this weekend). I'm planning my other favorite long hike instead (a Pemi Loop, start at Lincoln Woods and do a lap along Franconia Ridge, along the AT as far as Guyot, back down via the Bonds)...

#  Posted 2008-07-18 03:11:16
arcticQn: Oh, that would have been great to join you on (granted we were invited)! We're not going to be too far away, just down in the Hanover/Lebanon area, but busy hosting a 24 hour race...which you are welcome to come check out...though your adventure sounds much more fun! How long do you expect that loop to take?

#  Posted 2008-07-21 03:39:06
feet: You were invited if it had suited your schedule.

After having finished, I confidently expect it to take about 14 hours and 45 minutes (38.9 miles / 11,100 feet ascent*).
I lucked out on the weather: no thunder on Saturday and only some light rain showers. No view along Franconia but it cleared a little in the afternoon, with a gorgeous view from Bondcliff.
My feet hurt ;)
I've tried to do this loop a couple of times, with the same friend who got sick once and injured once. This time I decided I was going to get it done.
*: This version includes stupid sidetrips to a few nearby 4000' peaks with no view like Zealand that I was only doing because the first time we tried to do the loop, they were included (because we didn't know how much they sucked), and I wanted to do what we tried to do that time. The real loop is about 32.5 miles.

arcticQn: I have no doubt that your feet hurt!! Hehe, I'll have to try this run, without the stupid sidetrips! Thanks for the info and I'm glad that you enjoyed your brief vaca to the Whites and that you finished the loop, finally!
