Sandy: Good luck with the knee brace! What company are you getting it from? I have a Donjoy unloader brace. What's interesting about the fit on mine is that even if it slides a bit it still works in the sense of letting me run without pain. There's actually quite a big margin either way.

gail: Donjoy, I think. The guy is coming today to measure my leg. Even if it is good enough to let me run on that leg, I don't think the other one will. But maybe it will let me walk and hike. Wouldn't that be nice. Does it set off airport security? I'm sure my knee guy wouldn't have suggested it, but I told him I had a friend who did well with it and showed him a print out of the brace. He said he used that make of brace and for a small subset of people it worked. He said it was easiest to unload a thin leg. The little one on my left knee is also a donjoy.

Sandy: Yes - definitely sets off airport security. I've spent a lot of time finding pants to wear that I can get the brace on and off without taking off the pants. Skirts work well but I"m not a skirt kinda girl!

gail: If I end up wearing the brace a lot, I'm going to have to say goodbye to many of my pants. I don't have many skirts. I don't mind them, but I don't have shoes that go with them and my pathetic feet make it very hard to find any. So I guess I'll be pants hunting. I'll check with you later for advice.

Sandy: I'm happy to share things I've discovered about finding pants to fit over the brace - just ask!
