| barb: | So, did the sticky stuff run off the hat and onto you, with flies attached? |

| PG: | No, it stayed put fine.
Actually (full disclosure) it was 2-day-old tape and sticky stuff, being the sometimes frugal guy that I am and seeing as how my shortish run on Sunday had only netted about 4 kills and I hadn't gotten around to disposing of the tape, it seemed silly to throw out something that had so much capacity left. So I added about 10 or 20 kills tonight. The usual, not aware of any buzzing, no problems, just some corpses, but late in the run I felt a couple on my back, swatted, nailed one, don't know about the other, but also felt like I had gotten nailed too. Don't know why. There is always the possibility that the FDF hits the blue tape but has the strength to pull off, but is left with sticky feet, so the next thing it touches down on it sticks to. And maybe one such FDF landed on my back, and once there, looked around and suddenly thought, Lunch. Clearly needs more research.... :-) |

| jjcote: | Might be that the glue lost some of its efficacy when wet, allowing one or two to escape. |

| coach: | What about your running mates? Does your hat offer them any protection, or have any of them adopted your headgear? |

| PG: | Hard to tell, so far I (and Phil) are the only locals using the stuff, but they were definitely inquiring as to the specific materials and where to get them. |

| tp: | I got an absolutely 'full' hat (back half) this morning on a 15-minute run, and definitely could see that there was a second layer that had landed on the first victims but only got their feet sticky. Some were able to stagger off and pause, exhausted and/or slightly stuck, on the surface where I put the hat (there to meet their fate). |

| PBricker: | Does your hat offer them any protection
When I've gone out with Adam a couple times at Mt Tom, I'm the only one wearing the hat, but he seems to benefit too if we are close together, kind of like a big umbrella for two. Or maybe they just like my scent; hard to tell for sure. |
