| skdewitt: | And such a different atmosphere from what we're used to. It's good that you have a week to rest before the French meet. |

| chitownclark: | After all the a/p postings of your work in the garden, I think you'd enjoy the little gardens and summerhouses up on the hill in Tantolunden, near the Hornstull Tunnelbana station in South Stockholm (Södermalm). I took Charlie up there last Saturday and he loved the place. Make sure you walk down the small side paths to appreciate all of the unique flowers and gardens, now at peak of their blooming season.
Tantolunden is a Swedish "allotment society" that was first established a hundred years ago. There's nothing like it in the US, as I'm sure you'll agree if you see it! Take a look at my log for our jogging route after Tantolunden...we ran/walked all the way around the Malaren basin. The shrimp salad sandwiches on the boat restaurant on the waterfront at Norrmalm were really great! |

| walk: | thanks for the suggestion. We spent an easy morning shuffling around the gardens, passed the sport stadium where two teams were warming up for football - US style- pads and all. We kept going on to the observatory. Not much to observe, so rest time.
I've seen similar gardens in Germany, England and in San Francisco(though not so elaborate). Also we have local community gardens around our area. I just use the backyard. |
